Silky Little Knits

Some of the best gifts come in the smallest packages.

I’m making three of these for my three favorite women in the whole wide world.

The content is a secret as a saftey precaution for blog-lurking family members.

The pattern is from Silky Little Knits” by Alison Crowther-Smith (I’ve fallen in love with this book-to put it mildly).  The attention to detail in this pattern is riveting.  There is an eyelet row for threading ribbon.  The body is knit with two strands of lace weight silk/mohair which are divided after binding off to be knit separately into 2 layered ruffles at the top edge.  The bag goes deceptively fast until you get to the ruffles, which are tiny and time-consuming, but well worth the effort.  They make you go “Ahhh” at the end.

Happy Holidays
